Joseph L. SantaCroce Service To Veterans Award

Until his passing in 2019, Joe SantaCroce loved working with and for Veterans.  He was a Sons of The American Legion VAVS Representative to the VA Medical Center in Brooklyn for many years, volunteering for Bingo, escorting Veterans for programs, having coffee and lunch with Vets, and the list goes on.  He loved being a member of the Sons, and was always recruiting friends, family, and other Legion Family members in helping with whatever needed to be done for Veterans.  Joe coordinated a large grant through Operation Comfort Warriors for the Brooklyn VA, and was the inspiration for many in assistance to Veterans.

Joe was active in all facets of the Sons of The American Legion, and the American Legion Family.  He rose through the ranks from Squadron Commander, District and Vice-Commander, and Detachment Commander, as well as serving diligently on many Committees and Commissions.  At the time of his passing he was the National Executive Committeman for the Detachment of New York.
